Spectral Wave - Art Blanket

"Spectral Wave is a grid field of spectrums. The 'algorithm' or rules for this painting include a twenty-five color diagonal strand that begins in the upper left hand corner. The strand runs diagonally, left to right, and returns 'flush' left when it meets the upper edge, continuing to the next consecutive color, in an ongoing, repeating, spectral sequence. The spectral strand fills the upper corner revealing an upward pointing 'flame pattern' that becomes a vertical 'water fall' as it covers the mid-section, and then transforms into a downward pointing 'flame' pattern in the lower right hand corner. It came as a big surprise to me that the 25 spectral array is the magic that made the 'wave' go 'vertical' in the mid-section."

Inspired by her ongoing exploration of grids, spectrums, and secret sequences, the artwork reflects Grey's fascination with color as language and pattern as revelation. What begins as flame-like forms in the upper corner shifts into a cascading waterfall through the mid-section, then resolves into an inverted flame in the lower right—a visual rhythm born entirely from the internal logic of the color array itself.

Woven in the United States from 100% recycled cotton, each blanket is crafted in partnership with a small East Coast mill. Due to the specialized weaving process and limited production capacity, only a select number of blankets can be produced in each batch.
