The Net of Being holographic foil print begins by separating the artwork into channels that control opacity, reflectivity, texture, and varnish. Opacity is selectively built to block the foil in some areas while allowing its color and reflectivity to emerge through others.
Texture is composed alongside these reflective areas, creating a balance between physical depth and the way light moves across the holographic surface. Raised texture emphasizes selected elements of the artwork while allowing the foil beneath to remain an active part of the image.
Varnishes are then applied at varying levels to add embellishment, control gloss, and activate the holographic foil beneath. The final result is a dimensional surface in which opacity, texture, reflectivity, and light work together as part of the composition.
Ultimately, the process is about creating a balanced interaction between the original artwork and the physical properties of the medium. Each decision is made to support the composition, allowing the image to shift and reveal new qualities as the light and viewing angle change.
