This luminous foil edition of The Shulgins and Their Alchemical Angels is a radiant homage to two of the most beloved pioneers of psychedelic science. Printed on foiled stock with layered UV textures, the piece shimmers with shifting light — veins glow, the central molecule subtly rises from the surface, and translucent wings hover like breath.
Though the surface pulses with energy, the faces remain serene — grounded, tender, human. Mounted on aluminum with a hidden Euro backframe, the print appears to float effortlessly from the wall — sleek, borderless, and brilliant.
This is more than a print. It’s a psychic talisman — infused with reverence, remembrance, and radiant beauty.

Origin & Legacy
This portrait premiered publicly on April 17, 2010, during the tribute dinner for Sasha and Ann Shulgin at the Psychedelic Science in the 21st Century conference in San Jose, CA. The day before, Sasha, Ann, and Alex signed the edition together.
In the painting, Sasha holds a glowing MDMA molecule, its wings aflame. Ann reaches toward it, her gaze resting in its light. Surrounding them are Sasha’s molecular “dirty pictures,” symbols of a lifetime’s exploration. Above, two flaming wings bear the words “PIHKAL” and “TIHKAL.” Floating above Sasha’s head is an alchemical flask — inside, an “eye of the heart” angel glows within the lab vessel.
